Hi – I’m Britt!
I was born and raised in Kansas City, MO, up in the “northland.” I went to college about an hour and a half north of KC in a cornfield. Graduated. Moved back home to Kansas City, but this time in the city living in Midtown. I lived in the Southmoreland neighborhood, just a couple blocks from the Nelson-Atkins museum, in a cozy mid-mod condo downtown for four years, and loved it.
In 2017, my advertising gig took my life up north to Chicago. I moved to Wicker Park for a year and half, then bought a condo in Logan Square where I currently reside. It’s literally the best neighborhood in the city, I swear.
I love my chaotic job, exploring the city, traveling, board games, chocolate, chai lattes, Tim Burton movies, using too many exclamation marks in emails, pretending that I know what I’m doing with cardio boxing and have an odd obsession with public transit/city set ups. I could analyze a city (one that I’ve never been to) in Google maps for hours.
This blog has evolved over the years. I’m passionate about supporting and advocating for small and local businesses, which is where my blogging started (formerly shopsmallqueen.com). I’ve since grown to share about more than this, but always incorporating these values.
Welcome to my internet hole!
