life update: welcome to chicago!

If you follow me on social media, or IRL, then you already know that Mitch and I decided to pack our bags and head up north to the great city of Chicago. Yup, you read that right. No more Kansas City livin’ for us (for now).

With a great opportunity at my company, Mitch working full time from home with self employment, new marriage and his roots + family being from Orlando, we thought this was the perfect time for us to take on a new adventure.

This post is a bit delayed with wedding, honeymoon, packing + moving and life overall, but we moved into our beautiful duplex in Wicker Park Thanksgiving weekend. So far we are absolutely loving the new home and enjoying checking out the neighborhood.

As most of you know, Kansas City is my home and I take such pride, love and care for its entirety. I’m a huge advocate of the town and it truly is the best kept secret in the middle of the country. The arts + culture is just booming right now and will only continue to grow. The city is learning and growing together and doing it with such love and grace, even when there are missteps.

My vision for this blog has always been to not narrow myself into only speaking about Kansas City, which is why there are posts about my travels. But, I plan to continue to share Kansas City small businesses and you will definitely start seeing Chicago pieces.

My hope is that if you are currently or formerly in (or a wannabe/soon to be visitor) KC, Chicago, or any city, then this content can resonate for you. I want to share what local businesses I discover, no matter where I am or where you are. I want to educate and spread the knowledge of supporting local and expanding the reach of movers, shakers, artists and biz owners.
