This holiday season, much like most of mine, are filled with little local touches. This year, I wanted to share how I’m supporting multiple small businesses in different ways just within our planned Thanksgiving table setting.
From pieces we’ll eat food off of (and usually a local turkey, too!) to the little touches of warmth in the room, all represent different companies / people who are working to live out their dreams. I’m so thankful for each and every maker, artist, artisan, local shop, and entrepreneur for sharing your passion with us in the most authentic ways. It’s our duty to keep these businesses alive by supporting them, no matter how big or small.
Being able to look at what’s in front of me on the table brings me so much joy because I love supporting these small businesses and artisans! However, knowing the story behind where each item came from, who made it, and that it made an impact on those lives (and our local economy!) is an incredible feeling that also makes me proud.
So, please enjoy a little preview of what Mitch and I have planned for our Thanksgiving Day table (first course). I hope it can inspire you to think about each little piece that gives local businesses a “seat at the table” at your Thanksgiving celebrations, or other gatherings and dinner parties throughout the year.
